John 11th August 2015

So very sorry to hear of Pete’s premature passing, and so very sorry that I didn’t get the chance to have a catch-up with him. Though it’s many years since I last saw him, I remember Pete as a cheerful, fun-loving, down-to-earth, passionate young tenor whose voice was as big as his heart. As a tuba player, I wasn’t over-proficient on the piano, but I do vividly recall getting to grips with the accompaniment to ‘Ridi Pagliacco’ and ‘Nessum Dorma’ just to play along with Pete in the NSM common room. I’d have been far too shy to do that for anyone else. Glad to know he enjoyed a career doing what he loved and that it loved him, and glad to know that he had a wonderful family life too. RIP Pete. John.
