I first met my good friend and fellow Mancunian, Opera Pete, in 1985 and it was always a pleasure to be in his company. His infectious enthusiasm for life and his art, together with his razor sharp, but never cruel, sense of humour will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
